Why the ‘uck is this guy not on the radio yet?

It’s very difficult to distract me these days, especially when Mew, Arctic Monkeys and Radiohead’s all got new material that is vying for a place on my playlist. I just got no time (and you know how a Radiohead song can go on and on and on…) to listen to anybody else. But  I got [...]

This post is sorta mandatory…

I think  it is not possible to write about the music scene without mentioning the Arctic Monkeys. To me, they are extraordinary in almost every way you can ask for, and as much as that sounds like a Hallmark card greeting, it stands true, even til today.
When they popped their first album Whatever people say [...]

Trying to prove a point: Our Legacy F/W 09

Yay!! It’s time to trade our blazers in for the comfort of the old grandma cardigan! And the look does not require any hair gel! Yipee to fashion and comfort! The blazer is so out of fashion already.

Then again, nah.. the blazer is still looking pretty fine.. forget I said anything…

LIFTED!!!: A Story of the Image

A Story of the Image is an exhibition (initiated by SingAnt-SingaporeAntwerp, Hurray to more cross country collaborations with Singapore!!) that features a collection of works from Antwerp, Belgium. It chronicles the history and progression of the image as an artform, from its early origins to the development of mass media to it’s eventual rejection by figureheads of [...]

The Seventh Month Choice Awards

For those of you born yellow, tis the season to celebrate and be seduced by all things macabre. Let your imagination run wild and may the dripping night soak your vision blurry!! (and hope you don’t  “see” more than you should!)
As Neil Gaiman would put it:
There was a hand in the darkness, and it held a [...]

The skies are clearing…

I’m at a lost when it comes to what I want to write about these days. I thought maybe I would go back to talking about Mew (again), or gush inappropriately about Michael Cera, my latest underaged romance fantasy fix. Then I got a copy of Zounds from the holy folks at Dangerbird Records, and it becomes [...]

Remember the time…

How the hell are you supposed to memorise stuff like “Puritan Canola Oil” and “Kern’s Peach Nectar”? By the way, props to the commentator, so good at improvising…
Don’t worry, I’m not about to post a Michael Jackson video. Do you remember this show? I think they even had a “Toys’r’us” version, [...]

The Leaky Cauldron: These are my twisted words.

Oh one day, you’ll eat the mike… one day you will attain true satisfaction.
Going downhill, going downhill, …like a gossamer cloud of mystery spiralling down into the valley of  legends.
You’re lucky I reserve such twisted writing only for my dearest Radiohead. Or at least I try.
Download the leaked track from here.

This makes me nervous….

Turns out the opening track of Mew’s No More Stories… “New Terrain” would deliver a different track called “Nervous” if played backwards. The thing is, both songs have legitimate melodies and lyrics that make sense (ok not totally, but you know Mew, they’re not very logical people)!! Like how the hell is that possible.
New Terrain

Highlight of the Week

Murray, sometimes I think I may be into you. But when I see that you’re not in this picture, I’m feeling a bit blue. These guys, they’re just not cool. They don’t make me drool like you do. Maybe only blue drool cause I’m feeling blue, and missing  you.
Gramophone: Hello, This is Gramophone.
Me: Hi, I’ll like [...]
